Newly retired teaching co-ordinator Irene bought her Surrey house in 1976 and it’s stayed virtually the same way ever since.  The focal point is a fake chimney breast and giant fireplace made of stone. Its sharp edges make her fearful, with small grandchildren playing in the house.   She’d happily dip into her pension pot if only she could find a solution. Enter Sarah Beeny with her monitoring cameras and a plan to bring Irene’s semi into the 21st century and a safe haven for the grandkids. But as the walls come down, will Irene cope with the upheaval?
